A Bit About Jody

Jody is an ambitious creative leader with over a decade of experience who is happiest when she can turn discovery and insight into innovative visual solutions for her clients. More of an athlete than a position player, she brings to the table a unique combination of proven strategic thinking and oversight with proficiency in hands-on execution across a diverse array of fields—from interactive tactics and digital design to advertising campaigns and consumer engagement.

Jody is an exceptionally capable thinker with a ferocity for human-centered communication. Her strategically focused, yet thoughtful and empathetic, approach to understanding audiences and human behavior drives her to create smart and engaging consumer experiences that move the needle in the marketplace.

Having worked in agency, in-house and contract settings, Jody has extensive experience with both B2B and B2C clients, with an emphasis on doing intelligent work for healthcare and professional institutions, arts organizations, schools and universities and non-profit groups. She has worked with nationally recognized brands including multiple Centene Corporation brands, Virgin Hotels, Monsanto, Monsanto Fund, Dollar General, DOLE, The Goddard Schools, Build-A-Bear Workshop, Red Bull, MillerCoors, Bar Louie and Washington University in St. Louis.

What I’m up to These Days

I’m currently working as a Senior Art Director at Brighton Agency, an integrated marketing and communications agency in Clayton, MO. My work at Brighton has focused on the Centene Corporation’s family of Healthcare brands, including:

• Ambetter (insurance coverage offered on the Health Insurance Marketplace)
• Allwell (Medicare)
• Envolve (integrated healthcare solutions)
• Over a dozen state Medicaid plans

As the lead visual creative for Ambetter, my team’s work has helped the 5-year-old insurance company reach tremendous levels of success. From its origins as a complete unknown entity, we’ve built the Ambetter brand to its current position as the largest provider on the national Health Insurance Marketplace—with more than a million members nationwide.

 


Jody holds a B.A. in Social Thought & Analysis from Washington University in St. Louis and a MFA in Advertising from the Academy of Art University. She’s also taught numerous courses in Advertising, Art Direction and Marketing as an adjunct at the Art Institute of St. Louis.

Skills: Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign & Illustrator, Microsoft Office & PowerPoint. Adept with most major social platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and Pinterest. Experience with Adobe Xd, WordPress, Google Analytics and OmniGraffle.
